About Us

Founded May 2002, The Common Cents Companies (Common Cents, Inc., Commonc Cents Consulting, LLC and Common Cents Outsourcing) are based in Baltimore, Maryland.

The companies were organized to provide financial consulting and outsourcing services to small businesses and organizations as well as individuals. Our goal is to provide "big business" level talent and services to our clients allowing them the ability to focus on their success and leverage their resources - time, energy and money.

Using current technology, The Common Cents Companies are able to provide its' clients with fast, accurate real-time access to financial statements and management reports while keeping overhead and human resources costs down.

Joyce M. Washington, CEO/Principal

Prior to The Common Cents Companies, Joyce spent seven years working with various companies in the Greater Baltimore - Washington, DC Corridor including managing the accounting teams of two large regional property management companies. During her tenure, Joyce has been instrumental in developing policies, procedures and internal control measures as well as training and mentoring accounting staff members.

As the founder and CEO/principal of The Common Cents Companies, Joyce has considerable experience working with businesses of various sizes: solopreneurs, small, medium and large businesses in numerous industries, including property management (residential, office, and commercial real estate), asset management, mortgage servicing, career-training/adult education, entertainment, non-profit organizations and construction/home improvement companies.

Ms. Washington has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from Morgan State University (Baltimore, MD) and is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor (2007, 2008, & 2009).
